SHOKUNIN
The Japanese word shokunin is defined as ‘craftsman’ or ‘artisan,’ but such a literal description does not fully express the deeper meaning. The Japanese apprentice is taught that shokunin means not only having technical skills, but also implies an attitude and social consciousness. The shokunin has a social obligation to work his/her best for the general welfare of the people. This obligation is both spiritual and material, in that no matter what it is, the shokunin’s responsibility is to fulfill the requirement.

Chief Operating Officer - Billy McCafferty
Billy McCafferty is Codai’s Chief Operating Officer and lead architect. Billy specializes in transforming client visions into working solutions. With over 20 years of professional development experience, Billy has a wide range of experiences and domain expertise, with extensive work in the delivery of web-based business applications and application integration.
For web-based business applications, Billy has assisted clients such as Los Angeles Department of Public Health and Utah Transit Authority to automate business processes and consolidate information access via online business portals and dashboards. These solutions have been both stand-alone in addition to pulling integrated data from a variety of COTS solutions.
For application integration, Billy has assisted clients such as Motorola and Stratum Consulting Partners to automate the integration of a variety of systems, such as Infor EAM, Primavera and JD Edwards. Billy’s integration solutions range from hands-free, daily synchronizations to real-time, trigger-based reporting and data pushes.
Billy is extremely committed to the quality of Codai’s project deliverables and meeting client expectations with respect to scope, schedule and budget constraints. He emphasizes clear project visibility throughout the project life-cycle and has lead many projects to client success.
Chief Technology Officer - Tyler Forsythe
Tyler Forsythe is Codai’s Chief Technology Officer and automated solutions expert. With more than 20 years of experience developing integrated software solutions for clients, Tyler leads the Codai team of automation software developers in a wide range of product development applications. His expertise covers a wide range of technologies, integrations, and a diverse number of business contexts including dynamic web applications, desktop-based solutions, mobile platforms, large multi-gigabyte datasets, AWS and Azure cloud providers, and dozens of specific technologies within these applications. Tyler’s unique skill-set is well-tuned to overcome almost unsolvable technical problems where most, to virtually all, other automation development teams have been unable to succeed.
After two decades of automation software development, Tyler has consistently achieved excellent client retention due to excellent technical and personal support long after initial project delivery. Most especially, he has built a strong reputation for supporting clients for years after software delivery by gathering continual feedback from clients and creating automation feature iterations that deeply enhance the software solution well after launch.
